Upgrade Module

Pull and Review Your Credit Reports

Obtain and review your credit reports to identify accounts, negative items, inaccuracies, and issues requiring attention.

Outcome

What Pull and Review Your Credit Reports gets you.

By the end of this upgrade you will have obtained your credit reports from all three bureaus, reviewed each line item, and produced a list of confirmed accounts, negative items, and any errors to dispute.

What you need
  • Government ID and personal details for identity verification
  • Access to the official free credit report source for your country
  • A notebook or spreadsheet to log findings
  • Recent statements for any accounts you're unsure about
Step by step

Run the upgrade.

  1. 01

    Obtain all three bureau reports

Request your report from each major credit bureau using the official free-access channel available in your country; avoid third-party sites that require a paid subscription.

  2. 02

List every open and closed account shown

For each bureau report, record the creditor name, account type, open date, balance, and status (open, closed, in collections).

  3. 03

Cross-check accounts against your own records

Compare each listed account to accounts you know you opened; flag anything you don't recognize immediately.

  4. 04

    Identify negative items

Note any late payments, collections, charge-offs, or public records, including the date reported and how long it can legally remain on the report.

  5. 05

    Check personal information accuracy

Verify your name, addresses, and employer history listed are correct, since mismatches can indicate mixed files or errors.

  6. 06

    Log discrepancies for dispute

Write down any account, balance, or personal-info error found on any of the three reports as a candidate for a formal dispute.

Done when
  • All three bureau reports have been obtained
  • Every account across all reports is logged with status and balance
  • Negative items are identified with dates
  • A list of discrepancies to dispute (or a note that none were found) exists
Keep it working

Annually

  • Re-pull all three reports at least once a year, or more often while actively rebuilding credit
  • Recheck after any dispute for updated results
  • Watch for new accounts you don't recognize as a sign of possible fraud
