Upgrade Module

Side Income Validation

Test demand and willingness to pay for a side-income idea before committing significant time or money.

Outcome

What Side Income Validation gets you.

By the end of this upgrade you will know, with real evidence, whether people will pay for your side-income idea before you invest significant time or money.

What you need
  • Your top skill from a monetizable skills audit
  • Access to at least one channel to reach potential customers (social media, community, network)
  • A small budget or none — this step should be low-cost
Step by step

Run the upgrade.

  1. 01

    Define a specific offer

Write a one-sentence description of what you'd sell, to whom, and for roughly how much — vague ideas can't be tested.

  2. 02

    Identify 10 realistic prospects

List 10 specific people or a specific audience segment who might actually buy this, not a general 'everyone' market.

  3. 03

    Create a minimal test offer

Build the smallest possible version you can offer this week: a single service slot, a pre-order, a deposit-based test, or a simple landing page with a 'buy' button.

  4. 04

Ask for a real commitment, not just opinions

Request money, a deposit, an email signup with intent, or a signed commitment — opinions like 'that sounds cool' are not evidence of willingness to pay.

  5. 05

    Track responses

Record how many people you approached, how many showed interest, and how many made a real commitment.

Conversion rate = (real commitments / people approached) x 100

  6. 06

Set a go/no-go threshold before testing

Decide in advance what conversion rate or dollar amount would justify moving forward (e.g., 3 paid signups out of 10 asks) so the decision isn't made emotionally after the fact.

  7. 07

    Make the decision

If you hit your threshold, move to building the business model; if not, revise the offer or return to the skills audit for a different idea.

Done when
  • You've approached at least 10 real prospects with a specific offer
  • You've asked for a real commitment, not just feedback
  • You have a documented conversion rate
  • You've made a clear go/revise/stop decision against a pre-set threshold
Keep it working

Revisit when

  • Conversion rates change significantly as you scale outreach
  • You pivot the offer based on feedback — retest before committing further resources
